Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of solodock.co.uk and to all products purchased from SOLODock. By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these terms.
Please read these terms carefully before ordering. If you do not agree with them, you should not use this website or purchase from us.
1. About SOLODock
This website is operated by SOLODock.
Business name: [solodock]
Business address: []
Contact email: help@solodock.co.uk
Website: www.solodock.co.uk
Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refers to SOLODock. “You” and “your” refers to the customer, website visitor or user.
Our store is hosted on Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform used to sell our products.
2. Our products
SOLODock products are under-desk MacBook docking and mounting accessories designed to help keep your MacBook hidden, connected and out of the way.
Our products may include 3D printed components, mounting hardware, protective contact liners, cables, adapters or other accessories depending on the product purchased.
Product descriptions, compatibility information, images, specifications and prices are provided as accurately as possible. However, minor differences may occur due to manufacturing, material finish, photography, display settings, product updates or small design improvements.
We may update, modify or discontinue products at any time.
3. Compatibility
You are responsible for checking that the product you order is suitable for your MacBook model, desk setup, cable position, monitor setup and intended use.
SOLODock is designed only for supported MacBook models and should not be used with cases, skins, shells or accessories that alter the external dimensions of the MacBook unless we have clearly stated compatibility.
Cable, charging and display performance can depend on your MacBook model, monitor, cable, adapter, hub, dock, operating system and device settings. We cannot guarantee compatibility with every third-party monitor, adapter, cable, hub or accessory.
If you are unsure whether a SOLODock product is suitable for your setup, contact us before ordering.
4. Installation responsibility
SOLODock products require careful installation. You are responsible for installing the product correctly, safely and only into a suitable desk or mounting surface.
You must use appropriate screws, fittings and installation methods for your desk material. Where screws or fittings are supplied, they are provided for general use and may not be suitable for every desk type or surface.
You must not overtighten screws, force the dock into position, force your MacBook into the dock, bend cables sharply, modify the product, drill through unsuitable surfaces or install the product in a way that could cause damage.
Before regular use, you should test fit carefully, check alignment and make sure the MacBook slides in and out smoothly without force.
If anything feels tight, misaligned or unsafe, stop using the product and contact us.
5. Use at your own risk
SOLODock products are used at your own risk.
Because the product is installed under your desk and used with your own MacBook, cables, monitors and accessories, we cannot fully control installation, desk material, alignment, cable routing, cleaning, debris, user force or long-term use conditions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damage caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable desk surfaces, overtightening, forced docking, misuse, modification, heat exposure, poor cable routing, trapped debris, lack of cleaning, incompatible devices or third-party accessories.
This includes, but is not limited to, damage to MacBooks, laptops, monitors, desks, cables, adapters, ports, accessories, surfaces, finishes or surrounding property.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
6. Device wear, marks and cosmetic damage
SOLODock is designed to support, protect and reduce unnecessary contact where possible. However, no dock, mount or contact-based accessory can guarantee complete protection against cosmetic wear, marks, rubbing, dust, grit, debris or long-term use effects.
Small marks, scuffs or cosmetic wear may occur over time, especially if dust, lint, grit or debris becomes trapped between the MacBook and the dock, liner or contact surfaces.
You are responsible for keeping the dock, contact areas and MacBook surfaces clean and free from debris.
We cannot guarantee that your MacBook, desk, cable, adapter or accessories will remain completely mark-free during use.
7. 3D printed materials and heat
Many SOLODock products are 3D printed using high-quality plastic materials. 3D printed parts can show small layer lines, minor cosmetic variations or small finish differences. These are normal and do not usually affect function.
Plastic parts should not be exposed to excessive heat, direct sunlight, heaters, very hot rooms, hot cars or other high-temperature environments.
You must not use SOLODock products in a way that exposes them to unusual heat, heavy load, impact, bending, twisting or force.
Material wear, heat-related deformation, damage from misuse, accidental damage or cosmetic ageing is not covered unless caused by a manufacturing defect.
8. Cleaning and care
You should regularly check and clean the dock, liner, contact points and surrounding area.
Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh cleaners, solvents, abrasive materials or liquids unless we specifically advise otherwise.
Dust, grit, debris or trapped particles can affect alignment, contact quality and cosmetic wear. Keeping the product clean is part of normal maintenance.
9. Cables, adapters and ports
Where a SOLODock product includes or supports a cable, adapter or connector, you must check alignment before regular use.
Do not force a connector into your MacBook. Do not use the product if the connector is misaligned, damaged, loose, bent or difficult to connect.
Cable and adapter specifications are provided based on supplier information and available product details. Actual performance may depend on your MacBook, monitor, adapter, cable, operating system and setup.
We are not responsible for damage caused by third-party cables, adapters, hubs, monitors or accessories.
10. Orders and payment
By placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or limit orders where we believe there is an error, fraud risk, stock issue, pricing issue, misuse of the website or other reasonable concern.
Prices may change at any time. If a pricing or product information error occurs, we may cancel or amend the order and contact you.
Payment is taken through Shopify or approved payment providers. We do not store full card details.
11. Shipping and delivery
Processing times, shipping times and delivery options are shown on our website or at checkout.
Estimated delivery times are estimates only and may vary due to courier delays, customs, address issues, busy periods or events outside our control.
For international orders, you are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, import charges or fees that apply in your country.
You must provide a complete and accurate delivery address. We are not responsible for delays or failed delivery caused by incorrect address details.
12. Returns and cancellations
Our returns policy is set out separately in our Returns & Refund Policy.
We currently offer a 30-day return policy, subject to the conditions stated in that policy.
Returned products should be unused, undamaged and returned with original included parts where possible, unless the item is faulty.
You are responsible for checking the product carefully before installation. Products that have been damaged through installation, misuse, modification, overtightening, forced docking or unsuitable use may not be eligible for a full refund unless required by law.
This does not affect your statutory rights, including rights relating to faulty, damaged, not-as-described or unsuitable goods.
13. Warranty
SOLODock products include a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects, unless stated otherwise.
The warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship under normal use.
The warranty does not cover accidental damage, incorrect installation, overtightening, forced use, misuse, modification, cosmetic wear, heat damage, damage from debris, third-party accessories, desk damage, MacBook damage, cable damage caused by misuse, or normal wear and tear.
If you believe your product has a fault, contact us with your order number, photos and a description of the issue.
Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, we may offer a repair, replacement, replacement part or other solution depending on the issue.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SOLODock will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or economic losses, including loss of profit, loss of data, loss of use, replacement device costs, business interruption or damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation or third-party products.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to a product purchased from us is limited to the amount paid for that product.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or your statutory consumer rights.
