Desk material matters
Solid wood, laminate, and hollow board desks are fine. Avoid loose veneers, metal or glass — as they just won't allow any fixing points.
INSTALL
A complete, considered installation guide — engineered to be done once, perfectly, in under fifteen minutes.
Expand each step as you go. No need to scroll through a wall of text — just the detail you need, when you need it.
Lay out the dock, mounting brace, hardware pack, and the included alignment template (where applicable). Confirm everything is present before you start.
Choose a flat, solid area beneath your desk with enough clearance to slide the MacBook in and out comfortably.
Clean the mounting area to remove dust grease and residue. Ensure it’s flat and free of existing holes or uneven surfaces.
Place the dock on a flat surface and carefully check that your MacBook slides in smoothly. Ensure the Pro and Connect docks without too much resistance and the cable doesn’t hit the ports frame. It’s fine if the dock edges flare and the MacBook wobbles slightly at this point. This is just a test fit so gently push the MacBook in and push the sides into the dock ensuring they don’t flare causing the MacBook to go in at an angle. The connection should be secure and smooth on the first try. Otherwise, check next step for minor adjustments.
If the USB-C appears loose, loosen the bolts underneath a quarter turn at a time using the included Allen key. Check the fitment between each turn. these can bee loosen off and once the connection is seated into the MacBook hand tightened weakly to not over tighten.
Place the mounting brace across the front of the dock to ensure the sides don't flare out or push in for perfect alignment first time.
Measure the desired distance from the front of your desk to the MacBook’s front edge and position the dock accordingly. We recommend a flush front dock with just enough MacBook sticking out for easy access. Next, attach the mounting brace to the dock’s front as shown to ensure perfect alignment. Finally, mark all the holes with a pencil while making sure it doesn't move. This might be easier with two people or by temporarily attaching the dock with the included double-sided pads while marking the holes.
To remove the dock, either gently twist it to loosen the tape or simply let go. Then, screw the screws into the holes, ensuring they go in straight. This is crucial to avoid twisting the dock or altering its fit. If necessary, use an appropriate pilot drill bit to drill holes for the screws.
Remove any uneven tape if you’ve used it. Then hold the dock in place and hand-tighten the included screws into the predrilled holes using a screwdriver. Make sure all screws are seated in the recessed holes and not sticking out into the open space to avoid possibly scratching your MacBook. Clean the dock rails now from any debris from installation.
Connect your USB-C and or hub if required to your setup/monitor and test fit your MacBook once again, making any minor adjustments only if needed using step 06.
These are the things people message me about after install — the stuff that isn't in the manual, because I wrote this guide myself.
Solid wood, laminate, and hollow board desks are fine. Avoid loose veneers, metal or glass — as they just won't allow any fixing points.
Run your USB-C and power cables in place before you slide the MacBook in. It avoids awkward bends and protects connector pins.
Hand-tight is enough. Power drivers can split desk material or strip the dock's threaded inserts.
After seven days of use, give mounting points a quick re-check. Most desks settle slightly with new load.
COMPATIBILITY
It happens. Adhesive can be repositioned once if you're quick. If you're unsure, send me a photo — I'll walk you through it.
Pick your dock, and I'll have it packed and posted by the weekend.
